Why is This Ice Cream Cone in My Pocket? Breakin’ Dumb Laws in Georgia.

No one may carry an ice cream cone in their back pocket if it is Sunday.
There is no shortage of dumb laws on the books, and this gem hails from Georgia. Before we started the trip, we’d looked up tons of dumb laws with the intention of taking a shot of us breaking a dumb law in each state we visited. Like the life of this blog, we let time get away from us and we haven’t done any of them. Frankly, I can’t remember any that we looked up.
But this one? It was too good to forget.
Tonight, we were making our second trip through the Savannah Candy Kitchen. My mom and aunts just arrived this afternoon for a week’s stay. (So excited!! I am seriously starting to miss our people!) Everyone was picking out little treats and snacks, when it dawned on me!
I told Shelton we’d have to come back to take the photo. And he yelled, “It’s Sunday! Right now!”
We headed straight outside, where it’s one hundred and OMFG degrees outside, stuck the rapidly melting cone in my pocket, and snapped a few pics.
So here I am, blatantly breaking a law here in the great state of Georgia.
Nevermind the cup of beer I’m conspicuously carrying down the street. The only law in the books about that is that I’m allowed to do it.
This ice cream in my back pocket? I’m the people your parents warned you about.
